TOP quality speedway action returns to the Smallbrook Stadium tomorrow (Thursday) as the Isle of Wight Warriors entertain the Kent Kings.

The National League fixture will give the Wigfhtlink-sponsored team an opportunity to avenge the 24-point defeat meted out by the Kent team when they last visited Ashey at the end of May.

Isle of Wight County Press:

It was a wholly forgettable evening for the Warriors as the visitors opened up an unassailable 19-point lead after only five races, which included a series of falls, mechanical issues, disqualifications and injuries to the Islanders.

Revenge may be a tall order as it will be a battered and bruised home side that come to tapes.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Indeed, there is still uncertainty over the final line up, with several wounded Warriors in the team.

They include Ben Morley, who hopes to ride after two big crashes last week, and Scott Campos, who suffered a knee injury in heat 10 at Mildenhall last Sunday.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Shaun Tedham’s back spasms appear to be easing and he too is hoping to ride.

Chris Widman will definitely msis the meeting following the broken wrist suffered at Wolverhampton on Monday evening.

Shaun Tedham’s back spasms appear to be easing and he too is hoping to ride.

Isle of Wight County Press:

The Kings bring the same seven who won last time out, with bags of firepower in the line up.

Club co-promoter Barry Bishop said: "I see this as a must-win meeting for the Warriors.

"With Chris now sidelined and Scott a doubt, the team are really up against it.

Isle of Wight County Press:

"We have already begun to search for a temporary replacement for Chris, but quite literally there are no riders available at the moment, so for now it will be rider replacement.

"Kent bring a team that like to ride on the Island and perform well, so it will be a huge challenge, but I completely believe in our side and they have our total backing.

Isle of Wight County Press:

"They will take to the track determined to do their best, as they always do, and with a little luck and the whole-hearted support of our magnificent fans, who knows, we might just come out on top."

Warriors (probable): Ben Morley, Danno Verge, Scott Campos, Rider Replacement — Chris Widman, Alfie Bowtell, William O’Keefe and Shaun Tedham.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Straight after the Warriors' meeting, the Wightlink Wizards will be on track for their second home meeting in the Southern Development League as they take on the Kent Kestrels.

Island-based riders Morgan Williams and James Luckman are both expected to line up for the Wizards as they tackle their Kent counterparts in the six-heat fixture.

Isle of Wight County Press:

As usual, gates open at 5.30pm, with open pit access between 5.45pm and 6.15pm, with pre-meeting demonstration rides from 6.15pm ahead of the parade of riders.

Tapes up at 7pm.
