DESPITE meeting Buxton without their usual spearhead of Ben Morely and Alfie Bowtell, the Warriors stole a win at Smallbrook.

Guest riders Ayres, always the showman who has a reputation of being fast and aggressive at the track, and Hampshire, a sharp starting and fast paced rider, did not disappoint.

All the Warriors chipped in with valuable contributions as reserve Shaun Tedham took his first home league win and Jamie Bursill stepped in successfully as reserve.

Scott Campos rode as dependably as ever and Danno Verge had an unlucky fall.

Warriors team manager, Jackie Vatcher, said: “It was good work from everyone.

“With our top two missing I looked long and hard at the options to cover their big points.

“Danny was always top of the guest list and with Chris missing it gave me the chance to bring in Taylor who has been terrific in recent weeks.

“I’m delighted the plan worked out. A big thank you to both Danny and Taylor.”
