IW FESTIVAL:
Halberry estate area, Newport: Halberry Lane, Cross Lane, Howard Close, Atkinson Drive, Victoria Road, St Paul’s View Road, Gordon Road, Harvey Road, Bellemead Lane, Blackberry Close, Greenfields Road, Cooper Road, Bellecroft Drive, Cook Avenue, Oak Close, Fairmount Drive , Mayfield Drive and Cynthia Grove will be closed to traffic except for residents and deliveries from approximately 9am on Wednesday until 1pm on Monday.
Due to the one-way restriction all traffic travelling from Newport to East Cowes and Ryde, and from Newport to the festival campsite/main festival car park, will be diverted via Staplers Road, Whiterails Road and Station Road to Wootton, A3054 High Street and Lushington Hill.
With pedestrian safety in mind, it is planned to close the A3054 Racecourse and Fairlee Road to vehicular traffic in both directions between Racecourse Roundabout and Staplers Road after the event finishes each night. The road closure should be in operation from approximately: Today (Friday) 11.30pm to tomorrow (Saturday) 1.30am; tomorrow 11.30pm to Sunday 1.30am; Sunday 10.30pm to Monday 12.30am.
Freshwater: A3054 Hill Lane (outside St Andrew’s). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation until approximately 4.30pm on Monday for emergency gas main repair works. A3055 Afton Road (outside Long Chase) — temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday until approximately 4.30pm on Thursday for the installation of a new gas connection.
Nettlestone: B3330 Eddington Road (from access road to 23 to outside 310m to the south outside West Priory Cottages). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation between 9am on Tuesday and next Friday, June 21, for kerbing. B3330 Nettlestone Hill (various locations between Gregory Avenue & Nettlstone Green) — temporary traffic lights will be in operation until tomorrow (Saturday) for kerbing.
Ryde: North Walk will be closed from Esplanade to Canoe Lake Road between 6am and approximately 5.30pm on Saturday, June 22 for an Armed Forces Day event. B3330 St John’s Road (between Surrey Street and Abingdon Road) — temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday until approximately 4.30pm next Friday, June 21, for installation of a new gas connection.
