Popular Isle of Wight attraction, Wight Karting, is celebrating a decade of 'big smiles' at Westridge in Ryde.

With over 92,000 members and a 520m floodlit, reversable track, its motto is 'motorsport for the young, old and everyone in-between.'

The site used to be part of a former airport, dating to the 1930s.

In the 1960s, a go kart track was built there and, in 2004, the site was further developed by its previous owners.

It current owners bought the site in 2010, and Andy and Cathy Foulkes opened Wight Karting in April 2014, after taking delivery of their first 24 karts.

These days, the all-weather course hosts events and welcomes thrill-seekers aged eight and above.

Birthday celebrations, held earlier this year, included members of the Lavender family, aged between 9 and 79, who were at the track to have a go at karting.
