FRESHWATER resident, Gita Gould, decided to arrange a West Wight Easter egg hunt with a difference last weekend.

Gita found egg shaped stones on the beaches of Colwell, Freshwater and Totland, painted and decorated them as Easter eggs, then placed them in different locations along the seafronts.

Anyone who found an 'egg' could send in a photo to be entered into a draw to win a real Easter egg.

Gita said: "I arranged this as I thought it was a nice way for families to enjoy some time together, fresh air and beautiful views in the holidays."

The lucky winner, Ethan, was announced in a video posted on facebook.

Gita and the community plan to hold a bigger and better event where children can come and help paint the stones next year.

Gita said: "I am by no means an artist, I just enjoy making people smile."
