A SPECIAL offer has been announced for Isle of Wight residents heading to the Common People festival in Southampton.

Organisers have teamed up with Red Funnel to offer a day ticket to the festival, plus return ferry travel, for £39 for adults and £19.99 for children.

The line-up for the event, which takes place at Southampton Common, features Lily Allen, James, Sparks and All Saints on Saturday, May 26, and The Jacksons, New Power Generation, Boney M. and Snap! on Sunday, May 27.

In addition to live music on the Common, Uncommon and Carnival Stages, there will be a kids' garden, street food, cricket, craft ales, a vintage funfair, the world's largest disco ball and a gin festival.

Common People and Bestival curator Rob da Bank said: "We’ll always love the Isle of Wight, it’s kind of my spiritual home as well as actual home and the huge support we’ve had from Islanders means a lot to us. By way of saying thank you, we’ve joined forces with Red Funnel to offer you a cracking ferry and festival deal. For less than forty quid you get an adult day ticket to Common People and return ferry travel, so come and be part of our bank holiday bash, bring the kids and make a day of it on Southampton Common."

Other acts set to appear include The Sherlocks, Jaguar Skills, Elvana: Elvis Fronted Nirvana, Plastic Mermaids, FooR, Jungle Brothers, The Cuban Brothers, Hak Baker, DJ Yoda, The Joiners, Dream Wife, Honeyblood, Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly, Milk Teeth, The Black Foxxes, Demob Happy, Pale Seas, The Rising, Ben Goddard and many more.
