AGE UK Isle of Wight is offering adventurous fundraisers the chance to take a 12,000 foot leap into the unknown to raise funds for the charity.

A sponsored tandem skydive is taking place from the Isle of Wight Airport, Sandown, on Thursday, July 19 and will offer each jumper an unrivalled aerial view of the Island.

Each skydiver will experience up to 45 seconds of freefall adrenaline, at speeds approaching 120mph, followed by a four to five minute canopy ride back down to earth.

Elisha Leachman, Age UK Isle of Wight’s fundraising manager, said: "Last year, our amazing skydivers raised over £7,000 to support local older people, and we’d love to beat that target.

"As an independent charity all the support we receive stays on the Island to help older people within our communities to live happier, healthier and connected lives."

Interested fundraisers can secure their seat in the plane with an £80 deposit and a commitment to reach a minimum sponsorship of £400 for Age UK Isle of Wight.
