AN UNEXPLODED bomb has been found in a field near Shorwell this afternoon (Thursday).
Emergency services were called out at 12.44pm following the discovery of an unexploded piece of ordnance in a field off Cheverton Shute, just outside Shorwell.
A police spokeswoman said that an explosive ordnance disposal team had been called and are due to attend.
Update: A bomb disposal team from the Royal Navy safely detonated the explosive just before 6.30pm.
