A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital following a collision between a motorbike and a car on the A3056 at Branstone near Holliers Farm on the main Sandown to Newport road this morning.

Police were called to the scene at 9.52am following the collision with involved an Audi TT and the motorcycle.

A section of Windford Road remains closed following the accident.

Police arrested a person at the scene in connection with the collision and the motorcyclist was taken to St Mary's Hospital, Newport for treatment.

No details exist at present regarding the injuries sustained by the motorcyclist, according to a police spokesman.
