THE FIRE and Rescue Service has been called to a fire in Parkhurst Forest this morning (Tuesday).
One fire engine from Newport is at the scene following the call at 7.45am.
The incident is ongoing.

UPDATE 8.39am — Another engine from Newport, one from Ryde, a Landrover from Newport and a watercarrier from Freshwater have been called to the scene.
A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Service said the fire is approximately 50 metres by 30 metres.
UPDATE 10.00am — The fire is said to be out but firefighters remain at the scene to check for any embers or possible alight areas in the ground.
