Emergency services were called to the scene at the junction with Folly Lane just after 2.30pm this afternoon (Thursday).

Update Friday 09:30

Richard Tyldsley, Southern Vectis general manager, said: “One of our buses and a van were involved in a collision in Whippingham.

“Fortunately it was a minor impact. That said, the safety of those on-board and other road users is our priority. One of our passengers was holding a baby when the incident occurred, so we called an ambulance as a precaution. We are not aware of any injuries.

“Our bus sustained a small amount of damage but services have now returned to normal.”
