NOT every photographer gets the chance to snap a meerkat, a lion and a tiger on the same day.

Island snappers got to test their skills, and try out new equipment, on the residents of the Isle of Wight Zoo last Saturday (September 9).

The event was part of a photographic show run by the Island Photo Centre.Visitors could photograph the animals up close — while remaining outside the cages. They had the chance to use the latest camera equipment from Fuji, Sony and Pentax among others.

These pictures were sent in by Alice Williams, Keith Pollard and Rob Whapham.
