CUSTOMERS at a Cowes pub dressed as characters from the hit television show Peaky Blinders for a night of music and entertainment.

The series, set in the 1920s, follows the Shelby family as they build their criminal empire in Birmingham after the First World War.

Following the event at The Yachtsman manager Jolie Taylor said: "It was a great night with everyone dressing up and we also had a special menu with dishes names after characters in the show.

"We had brummie bangers and mash, Polly's partridge breast, sawn-off shotgun lemon tart and Ada's apple and berry pie."

Entertainment was provided by singer Nik Potts, who played the violin and guitar, and there was a charity casino in aid of the RNLI.

Jasmine Hayden won the prize for best dressed character.
