Whitwell Road was closed last night after a crash in which a vehicle overturned.
A CAR overturned in a crash last night in Whitwell.
Firefighters, paramedics and police were called to the scene on Whitwell Road just before 11pm.
The road was closed while oil and fuel was cleared from the carriageway, Island Roads said.
One person was taken to hospital, a spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service said.
An Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said firefighters from Ventnor and Newport attended and made the scene safe and provided lighting for the other emergency responders.
