From Ms Marion Shaw, Whitwell:

I am very disappointed to hear a licence has been granted to hunt on National Trust (NT) land at Mottistone.

As a resident of the Island, an animal lover and a supporter of the League Against Cruel Sports, I find it absolutely incredible an organisation such the NT, which is supposed to look after our “special places” could possibly do such a thing.

Even if by some miracle foxes are not attacked, they and other wildlife will be terrified, land will be damaged and people will think it is OK to tear across the land like a bunch of hoodlums because a respected organisation such as the NT condones it.

You cannot pretend to protect the land and allow hunting of any kind or for any reason.
