From C. Hilton Kemp, Nettlestone:

As Armistice Day approaches my thoughts turn to the comrades I served with at the commencement of the war. We were 392 Searchlight Company Royal Engineers Territorial Army, and our HQ was at Northwood.

We were here on the Island during the Battle of Britain. When the (invasion scare) was over, the unit was transferred to artillery and split up into other units.

I was sent to the Far East, India and on to Burma.

Now I count myself lucky to have reached the age of 97 and wonder if there are any of the original lads still alive? If so I would be pleased to hear from them and they can contact me via the County Press.
