WHAT do you think of the waste service on the Isle of Wight?

The council, in partnership with Amey, is seeking views on waste and recycling services and an online survey is now open until January 4. It is an opportunity for householders to put forward suggestions for future improvements or ideas on how the Island can recycle more.

The council is responsible for the collection, treatment and disposal of household recyclables and waste on the Island — which is delivered through a contract with Amey.

The survey can be completed online and paper versions are available at County Hall, libraries across the Island and council help centres.

Cabinet member for waste management, Cllr Michael Murwill said: "I would urge to public to have their say in the survey as we are always open to hearing ideas on how we can all continue to recycle more and reduce our waste.

"We’re already recycling 55 per cent – which was originally our target for 2020 and we’re continuing to tackle issues such as plastic pollution and thanks to Island residents, recycling has now become part of our daily lives."

Once the closing date for the survey has passed, the information will be reviewed and used to identify possible improvements to the existing services.

Completed hard copies should be returned by January 7 to County Hall.
