CORNED beef hash and wartime favourite foods were offered at a special event to raise money for the Royal Air Force Association.

Shanklin Age Concern went back in time to commemorate Armistice Day with a fundraising Brew for a Few open day on Saturday (10).

They raised £288 through cake sales, light lunches, a raffle and entertainment in the form of live music.

The popular base was decked out in sandbags, bunting and poppies, and there was even and old Riley parked outside.

Cherry Scudder, one of the many volunteers, said: "It went really well. We were very busy with regular members and people from the wider community popping in."
