RYDE Academy held a number of remembrance activities to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

Students and staff worked hard on poppy displays around the academy and head boy, Louis Harris, 15, and head girl, Shaylee Perkis, 15, raised a remembrance flag outside the school, watched by prefects and the student council.

Harry Sheppard, 12, in Year 7, played the Last Post and the head of history, Joelle Dorman, read 'For the Fallen' by Robert Laurence Binyon.

The sixth form also created their own display and held a service at the sixth form campus. Hayley Andrews, age 15, in Year 11, sang 'With You' from Ghost the musical at the Year 11 assembly, allowing everyone time to reflect and remember.
