From Jackie Terry, Niton:

With reference to the letter from Tom Bodman (CP, 02-11-18), it is not true the Customs Union was discussed before the referendum. It was discussed after the referendum.

This myth, so often quoted, needs to be put to bed. The booklet on the case for remain sent to all households made no mention of the Customs Union.

I challenge anyone to produce media transcripts where the Customs Union was discussed. The border in Northern Ireland was similarly not discussed before the referendum.

Tom Bodman indicates if one is not “man enough” to accept a result based on misinformation, lack of information, financial irregularities, possible criminal activity, then one is a snowflake.

I do not accept the result of the Referendum for these reasons. I will accept the result of a People’s Vote. This needs to happen soon to stop the terrible waste of money spent on preparations for a no deal when local authorities are going bankrupt. No deal is not an option, Parliament will not allow it. The IW Council is inflicting further cuts on the public.

The hard leavers are alarmed at the prospect of another vote because they know in their hearts the public are likely to vote remain
