CHEERS! More good news for Isle of Wight pub-lovers has been announced this morning (Thursday).

The King Lud, which called its last orders in October, is set to re-open very soon.

The pub posted on Facebook:

Although the new owner of the Ryde venue is remaining a secret for now, former-manager Jackie Sumner said she was thrilled with the news.

Jackie said: "I'm helping the new owners to make it the same as it was before — a community hub. We're going to bring it back to its former glory."

Jackie said she was glad pub was set to re-open very soon as she knew her locals were feeling the loss of the Lud.

"It's so important it re-opens for the community. I met one of our regulars in another pub the other day, and he just said, 'I don't know where everyone is'. It's all about the people."

When Jackie told the locals the good news, Jackie said they were over the moon. "They simply can't wait. And neither can I."
