EMERGENCY services have been called to a crash in Ryde this evening (Wednesday).

A spokesperson from Isle of Wight Police said East Hill Road, West Hill Road and Alexandra Road have been closed while units deal and assess the collision.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

UPDATE 6.30pm:

The Ambulance Service are at the scene where paramedics are treating a man who came off his motorcycle when he collided with another vehicle.

A spokesperson said the crew were called to the junction between East Hill and West Hill at 5.22pm.

UPDATE 6.40pm:

Police have confirmed East Hill Road is closed, West Hill remains open but with no access to East Hil Road and although Alexandra Road is open, there is no access onto the top of West Hill Road.

Access is still open to High Park Road.

UPDATE 8pm:

The roads are now open again and the are has been cleared.

The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital.
