THE Museum of Island History, situated in the historic Newport Guildhall, will be open free of charge next Saturday.

View the Hidden Heroes exhibition and some of the amazing archaeology found on the Isle of Wight, between 10am and 2pm.
Frank Basford, finds liaison officer with the Portable Antiquities Scheme, will be available to identify any items of archaeology.
The conservator for the Heritage Service will also be available to provide advice on the conservation and storage of artefacts.
There will be hands-on activities for families – make a free Christmas badge or decoration to take home.
The shop has some great ideas for Christmas, with local books, games and gifts.
