PUPILS at Bembridge Primary School have planted bulbs and a special tree as a First World War memorial.

The school council and Year 5 pupils carried out the planting in the school garden in commemoration of the servicemen from Bembridge who died in the First World War.

Richard Weaver from the PTA dug the hole and helped the children plant the tree, and Alan Morris, chair of governors, presented each child with a special certificate naming the pupil and the serviceman they were remembering.
