AN explosion of technicolor took place at Quay Arts, when the students from the Priory school staged their end of year performance.

The end of year production by the Priory School of Our Lady of Walsingham was 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Oliver Morgan played Joseph, with Amelia Lake as the narrator.

The trio of dancers on stage throughout were Mia Dunford, Max Rose and Lydia Soar.

The biblical tale follows Jacob's sons, the founding fathers of the 12 tribes of Israel, and the exile of Joseph to Egypt.

A cast of almost 40 performed with all the technical work done by Priory pupils under the direction of John Herriman.

The matinee and evening performances drew standing ovations.

The technicolour coat was handmade by Liz Tate a parent at the school and the sets by the Art Department.

Admissions officer Sarah Gully said: "Priory has done productions in school and in various churches as well as the Apollo Theatre, but this was the first production at Quay Arts.

"It has crowned a successful term where the school has continued growing on the back of its successful Ofsted and exam results."
