A FLASHER who repeatedly exposed himself to women appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates this morning (Tuesday).

Simon Powell, 44, of Terrace Road, Newport, admitted eight charges of exposing himself between January 9 this year and November 25 this year.

The court heard the offences took place in remote locations around Newport.

One of Powell's victims said she had seen children nearby just after the offence took place, said Vivian Ducie, prosecuting.

For Powell, Barry Arnett said a number of the victims were women walking their dogs.

He said there was no suggestion children actually saw Powell exposing himself.

"He is very remorseful and has already made an appointment to see his GP," said Mr Arnett.

"He has lost his good character and there will be repercussions."

The case was adjourned for sentencing to the Isle of Wight Crown Court on February 1.
