A FAREWELL UK tour celebrating the music of Arthur Lee and Love is coming the the Isle of Wight.

Original Love guitarist Johnny Echols will perform with Baby Lemonade in the eight-date summer tour, which starts at Strings Bar and Venue, Newport, on June 26.

Baby Lemonade performed with Arthur Lee from 1993 until his death in 2006, playing a key role in the renaissance of Love's music.

They played sold out tours, appearing at back to back Glastonbury Festivals and on Later with Jools Holland.

Johnny Echols, Love's original lead guitar player, who part of the classic line up that recorded the seminal Forever Changes album.

He and Arthur Lee were childhood friends whose families both moved from Memphis to Los Angeles. As teenagers they played as Arthur Lee and the LAGs and the American Four, before forming Love in 1965.

A towering figure in psychedelic rock, Arthur Lee died after he was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2005.

His last show was with Baby Lemonade and Johnny Echols on June 23 at San Francisco’s Cafe Du Nord.
