TWO years after his first visit, young Kai Plant returned to enjoy the Freshwater Independent Lifeboat annual Christmas grotto.

Kai first popped in aged nine months but was back again with mum Michaela at Saturday's (December 8) event to give Santa his Christmas wish list.

He was joined by another special guest, Leira the Icelandic snow pony, who was a big hit with the children — who had great fun despite the weather.

There were gifts and mince pies for all, with donations raising £320 for the lifeboat charity.

Principal fundraiser Rod Adams said: "This day is for the children and not about making money, it is our way of saying a huge thank you to the community who support us so well throughout the year.

"And, of course, we are so lucky that Santa can fit us into his busy schedule."
