THE Isle of Wight Studio School is celebrating after being named an 'amazing education establishment'.

The school was nominated for the amazing educational establishment award by the Education Business Partnership (EBP) South.

EBP is a social enterprise that work in partnership with schools and businesses to help develop young people's skills through business experiences, mentoring, enterprise challenges, development initiatives and work experience.

The school was recognised due to its unique model of building key employability skills and their work experience offer.

Richard White, Headteacher, said: "I’m delighted that the school has been nominated for this award alongside only a handful of other schools across the south.

"The recognition of the way we work to develop key employability skills in our Island youngsters by such an esteemed company is truly heart-warming and shows the model is exactly what employers are looking for in education."

The school is due close at the end of this school year.
