BRADING Community Choir and Brading Bell Ringers raised more than £200 for charity at their concert at St Mary's parish church.

The bell ringers, whose number includes youngsters as young as seven and four generations of the same family, played Christmas music on handbells.

Don Roberts entertained the audience with a song by Django Reinhardt, played on his acoustic guitar, and the choir's musical director, Mark Cox, performed a piano piece by Scott Joplin.

Mark and Liz Manning sung the Everly Brothers' hit, 'Let It Be Me' and Barbara Butler sang 'Nobody Does It Better', the theme song from the James Bond film 'The Spy Who Loved Me.'

The choir sang a variety of music including Caribbean calypso, show tunes and sea shanties.

Funds were raised for Brading charities through a raffle, sales of interval refreshments and a retiring collection.
