A CHARITY gig to raise money for Meningitis Now is being held in memory of young Isle of Wight man, Christopher Davey, who died in October.

Christopher, 23, of Carter Avenue, Shanklin, died suddenly after his symptoms were mistaken for the flu.

His family have vowed to raise money and awareness so that the same thing doesn't happen again.

Make Noise For Chris is a charity gig at Strings Bar and Venue that will be held on Friday, February 15.

His family witnessed him going from having flu like symptoms in the morning to being in a coma in the afternoon of the same day. He never woke up from the coma and life support was switched off.

His family said: "We want now, more desperately than anything else, to prevent this happening again, so Make Noise For Chris is a music event to raise money and awareness for Meningitis."

Performing at the event will be bands Sub Pacific, Kings and Castles and BOCA.

Tickets for the event are available from See Tickets at https://www.seetickets.com/event/make-noise-for-chris-supporting-meningitis-now/strings-bar-venue/1294442.
