CALLING all young snappers, those more comfortable behind the lens and anyone who loves Carisbrooke — the closing date for Carisbrooke Life is fast approaching.

The Friends of Carisbrooke Church are hosting a photographic competition for photos of the Carisbrooke parish.

There are four categories — buildings, animals, people and countryside — and the photographs must be snapped within the ecclesiastical parish of Carisbrooke.

The boundaries include stretches of Parkhurst Forest and farmland, parts of Gunville, Bowcombe and Idlecombe.

A spokesperson from the Friends said they hoped the competition would involve the community in looking at the area around them to capture Carisbrooke Life.

The deadline is midnight on January 6, each entrant may enter up to two images in each category and it costs £3 per entry.

Entries should be submitted digitally to carisbrookelifetoday@btinternet.com.
