ASPIRING film makers got the chance to display their best work in the Picture The Music Film Making Competition held in Ventnor.

Run by Ventnor Exchange, Ventnor Arts Club and Ventnor Film Society, the entrants were invited to submit a music video which could be used to promote a music track.

Lin, who helps run the competition, said: "The films were very varied in style and the quality of submissions was very high.

"The judges very much enjoyed viewing the different interpretations of the songs and finally agreed a winner in each category."

Joel Whybrew grabbed the win in the over 23 age group, who chose the track 'Loop' by Immy Hawkins and A1F and created a very engaging animation featuring a bird, a tree and a snail.

In the under 23, first prize was awarded to Jack Millward and Tom Kral for their interpretation of 'Fast Food Knife Fight' by the Eton Girls Choir.

Each winner was awarded a cash prize and a trophy designed by local artists, Annette and John Wilkinson, and the music videos have been sent to the bands which feature in them.
