MORE than 45 tractors took part in this year's annual charity road run

Among the usual selection of Ford and Fordson, Ferguson and John Deere tractors which set off from the Eight Bells pub in Carisbrooke last Thursday, was a recently restored David Brown 885 together with a Cropmaster, similarly restored.

The Minneapolis Moline GBD stood proudly out among all the other tractors.

New to the run this year were a couple of Mercedes Unimogs.

Organised by Isle of Wight Classic Tractors, the route took in Carisbrooke Castle and the Military Road.

The event was sponsored by Needles Pleasure Cruises Ltd and raised £800 which will be divided between The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and the Alzheimer’s Cafe, Newport.

Organisers wish to thank land owners and tenants who allowed them to cross their land, and Isle of Wight police for their co-operation.
