A VULNERABLE Shanklin woman — thought to be wearing hospital scrubs and a cardigan — is missing from St Mary's Hospital this evening (Wednesday).

Family and friends raised the alarm after Charlotte Alder, who has severe epilepsy and is thought to be without a phone, money or medication, went missing from the Newport hospital this afternoon.

Valerie Alder, Charlotte's cousin, said: "All I can say is as a family member, we urge the SAR team to start searching.

"She is so vulnerable. She is just dressed in minimal clothing and everyone who knows her is extremely worried for her health and safety. It really is a matter of urgency to find her safe."

The County Press understands Charlotte's road and the surrounding areas have been searched but the Search and Rescue team have not currently been deployed.

The 44-year-old is thought to be wearing hospital scrubs, a black cardigan and Ugg boats and to be in the Shanklin and Merstone area.

If spotted, the public has been asked to call the police immediately.

More to follow.
