ANOTHER community defibrillator has been safely installed on the Isle of Wight.

Residents in Ventnor and those visiting the town will now be able to use a defibrillator installed at the Royal Hotel in case of emergency.

The team at the Royal would like to say a particular thank you to local business owner, Charlotte Back, and her team at Scotts hair salon who donated the final £500 needed to reach the £1,600 cost of a defib.

Dr Greg Bailey and the marketing manager at the hotel, Maria Cirrone, launched and delivered the appeal for the life-saving equipment.

Dr Bailey said: "In the event of cardiac arrest, the sooner good quality CPR and cardioversion begins the high the chance of survival.

"With our professional team who are first aid trained, along with this defibrillator, our guests and the local community now have the chance to access immediate treatment in the event of cardiac arrest."
