A WOMAN who was 26 when diagnosed with cancer has added her voice to a useful journal to help others in a similar situation.

Victoria 'Tori' Coles has contributed to the Wessex Cancer Trusts's journal This Is Me, which is designed to help people through their cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

As well as being a place to write down feelings, This Is Me features stories of women who have been affected by cancer, a planner to record appointments and social events, craft ideas and recipes, as well as hints and tips to aid health and wellbeing.

Tori, who runs Wight FIT gym in Newport, said: "I was asked to be involved with the journal last summer, where we all came together for a day of stories, photos and laughs.

"I was 26 at diagnosis, and Wessex Cancer Trust has been a great support to me over the three years. I've been actively raising funds for Wessex, running marathons etc, raising about £7,500 so far.

"The journal is aimed to get your thoughts out, as someone going through cancer often finds speaking to loved ones isn't always that easy."

The journal is £14.99 and can be ordered from www.wessexcancer.org.uk/shop/this-is-me. Copies are also available on the Island at Wessex Cancer Trust's support centre in Newport and at its shop in Freshwater.
