A BOY'S bike – his Christmas present – has been stolen from outside his home in Ryde.

The boy's mother, Karen Nolan, of Harding Road, said: "I’m upset about it. It was very expensive, but most of all it makes you furious that someone could do that."

Her son Haidn is 13 and didn't have the bike for three weeks before it was stolen from outside his home today (Thursday) at 11.30am.

Ms Nolan is now asking island people to keep an eye out for the distinctive orange and black Mafabikes BMX with grey tyres.

Just four days ago, another 13-year-old had his bike snatched from his hands as he stood outside Waitrose in East Cowes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.

UPDATE: The bike has now been returned in good condition.
