TEMPERATURES are set to plummet tonight across the Isle of Wight (Tuesday) according to the Met Office who have announced a yellow weather warning for ice.

Icy patches on the roads in the early hours of the morning and later on tonight are a cause for concern and you should take extra care when driving, says the weather service.

Island Roads have confirmed gritters will be on our roads from 7pm tonight. They'll be treating primary routes and bridge decks in Newport at Stag Lane and Foxes Road.

Tomorrow is set to be a brighter day, but with less cloud coverage and a forecasted low of -1C, it could feel colder than today.
