A WHOLE day of continuous pedalling was enjoyed by staff and customers at Hovertravel — to raise £400 for Isle of Wight Admiral Nurses.

Hovertravel committed to a 15-hour cyclethon from 6.15am right through the company's operational hours, until 9.15pm, last Wednesday (16).

It was the latest fundraising initiative for Dementia UK's campaign to fund Admiral Nurses on the Island.

Pilots, engineers, crew members, cashiers, duty managers, and staff from the finance, HR and commercial departments all cycled for charity.

Customer Alf Holman, 95, of the Briars Care Home in Sandown, also jumped on the bike and showed everyone how it was done.

Loretta Lale, head of commercial at Hovertravel, said: "We want to be fully involved with our chosen charity for 2019 and all the team love to participate in this type of fundraising activity.

"By holding a continuous cyclethon in our terminal we are spreading the message about Admiral Nurses to our customers and putting our commitment on show."

By placing the charity's branding in key marketing locations such as terminal screens, craft screens and as advertising banners in emails, Hovertravel will promote the cause to their passengers.
