AN ISLE of Wight paedophile faces a possible jail term after flouting the terms of a sexual harm prevention order once again.

Brian Gandy, of Folly Lane, East Cowes, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, April 26.

The 74-year-old admitted breaching a sexual harm prevention order, in East Cowes, on February 1 of last year.

Prosecutor, Lauren Stone, said in November 2021, Gandy was handed a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, for making indecent images of children, which included a number of extreme pictures.

She said police officers visited Gandy’s home address, examined a number of devices, and his laptop highlighted a Nexus tablet which had not been registered.

The court heard the tablet was located during a search and Gandy’s suspended sentence order had still been in place at the time of the offence.

Oscar Vincent, defending, said the device in question was very old, did not work, and had been packed away when Gandy moved to the Isle of Wight.

He said he had completely forgotten about it, and it was not one he used.

Ms Stone revealed it was Gandy’s third breach of the order, and he saw his case adjourned to May 31 at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.

He was granted unconditional bail, and magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report.
