An Isle of Wight woman breached a community protection notice four times and was caught shoplifting on three separate occasions.

Amber Banham-Gage, of George Street, Ryde, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, April 26.

The 21-year-old admitted four counts of failing to comply with a community protection notice, and three counts of theft from a shop, in East Cowes and Sandown, between January 13 and March 15.

Prosecutor, Lauren Stone, said Banham-Gage stole goods to the value of £23.85 from the Co-operative on High Street, Sandown, and bottles of alcohol and a crate of beer to an unknown value from the Co-operative on York Avenue, East Cowes.

She said a community protection notice was issued on January 29 of this year with various conditions, and on four occasions, Banham-Gage was found in breach.

The court heard on two of those occasions, on Well Road, Banham Gage was seen in a public place – namely a bench and a bus – with an open vessel of alcohol.

She was also seen knocking on the window of Central Stores during a burglary, and spotted in the company of a person she shouldn’t have been with, both times in East Cowes.

Banham-Gage saw her case adjourned to May 14 at the same venue, and a pre-sentence report was ordered.

She was granted unconditional bail.
