The Isle of Wight's floating bridge will be out of action once again tomorrow morning (Friday).
The County Press has been told it is to allow for the vessel's east prow ram to be replaced.
Wear was detected during routine maintenance.
Work is being done tomorrow, to ensure the chain ferry is ready for the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Cowes to East Cowes route will be suspended between 8am and 2pm.
A launch service will be in place for pedestrians and cyclists.
