MOTORISTS are advised to avoid Brighstone this morning (Tuesday) after a major house fire in the rural Isle of Wight village.
Firefighters were called to a major house fire in Gaggerhill Lane at 2am and worked through the night and this morning to keep it under control.

As a result, with a large contingent of emergency services at the scene, traffic flow through Brighstone has been difficult.
The main road through the village — the B3399 — has been closed at the junction of Hunny Hill and Chilton Lane, a one-car track.
The road closure along the main road runs through to the Hoxall Lane junction.
