THERE'S another chance to watch Wightwash, the film about the IW Council's Eco Island vision by Island filmmaker David George, tonight (28).

The film is being shown at Ventnor Arts Club at 7.30pm.

The vision was laid out in 2008, but ten years later the film explores what happened to it.

Ventnor Film Society is showing Zama (15), an Argentinean film, at the same venue, on both Tuesday (2) and Wednesday (3) at 7.30pm.

Spain’s colonial past comes under scrutiny with Zama, the tale of a Spanish officer in 18th century Paraguay. Frustrated with his lack of promotion, he sets off in a nightmarish hunt for a notorious bandit.

The film is in Spanish, subtitled.

On Thursday (4), Ventnor Arts Club is showing a live satellite broadcast of The Winter's Tale, by Shakespeare.

Starting at 7pm, for 3.5 hours, this great play of the irrational and inexplicable, illustrates how uncontrollable emotions can range across gender, country, class and age.

Staged at the beautiful and iconic Globe Theatre in London, this new production is directed by Blanche McIntyre.
