Savings from a lower rise in Mayor Ken Livingstones budget could mean £2.3 million for Croydon residents.

Croydon GLA representative Andrew Pelling has claimed the spare cash released from a cut in the Mayors budget demands from 33 per cent to 18 per cent could be used to supplement council services.

He said as a result Croydon Council should only put up council tax by two per cent after this months referendum.
