Wokingham 2 Edgware Town 0

Ryman League Division Three

Edgware, who have suffered a sad decline in their fortunes over the past few months, have received a helping hand from neighbours Barnet with the loan of striker Toby Oshitoba and central defender Ismail Yakuba.

Both shaped up well on their debuts at Wokingham on Saturday.

Wares manager Colin Payne said: "They are two promising young players, and I am grateful to Barnet for helping us out."

Following a goalless first half, in which both sides had a few scoring chances, Edgware were rocked by two goals in quick succession at the start of the second period.

Gavin Ward opened the scoring with a terrific volley into the top corner of then net from the edge of the box, and Gavin Atkins raced clear to fire the second, with Edgware appealing in vain for offside.

Edgware threatened on a few occasions, but Barry Tarrant's shot was well saved by the keeper, who also did well to thwart Andy Thomas in a one-on-one situation.
