I wholeheartedly support the sentiments expressed by JR Alexander and Nick Taylor (Parking problems' and Where are commuters supposed to park?', Times Letters, January 10).
I always try and shop in the High Road but, with reduced car parks and now the CPZ, I shall be forced into out-of-town shopping. If Barnet Council thinks that increasing restrictions will make people ditch their cars, it is wrong.
Moving around north London suburbs without a car is a nightmare and the problem of congested roads pales into insignificance compared with the misery of waiting for and taking a series of buses. We pay council tax to enable the council to help us live our daily lives not to finance making our lives impossible.
