Barnet's 20-year-old striker Ben Strevens, on a month's loan with St Albans City, scored the 13th-minute winner in their 1-0 FA Umbro Trophy third-round victory over Newport County on Saturday.
It was Ben's third goal in as many matches for Ryman League Premier Division St Albans.
After scoring on his debut, a 2-2 league draw at Harrow Borough, he was on target again in the 3-1 league cup win over Marlow in midweek.
St Albans chairman Lee Harding said: "Ben's doing well and the deal benefits both parties. He's getting match fit and solving a problem for us."
Barnet player-manager Tony Cottee said: "Ben is a youngster with tremendous talent and it's good to see him doing well.
"He seemed to become frustrated due to his limited opportunities for first-team football with five forwards ahead of him.
"But going on loan has given him valuable experience."
