I am writing regarding the roundabout at the junction of Hartforde Road and Cowley Hill.
After a couple of near-misses at this dangerous junction myself, I wrote to the Highways Partnership, in July, complaining of the lack of vision, due to a hedge and railings obstructing my view to the right.
I received a reply from the area engineer, Peter Gooch. The roundabout will be redesigned when traffic calming measures are introduced. They are to be carried out in the autumn. So, from July until then, the county council have dragged their feet disgracefully.
I find that the lack of urgency shown by the powers-that-be is unacceptable, especially now that a fatal accident has happened just over a week ago. A fatality that was waiting to happen.
